Schemes/ Services offered by the Department/Section:
The Agri-Irrigation wing of Water Resources Investigation & Development Department is dedicated to the service of the small and marginal farmers by providing Irrigation water throughout the year (Pre-Kharif, Kharif, Rabi and Boro season) by means of
- Govt. Owned Deep Tube wells
- Electric and Solar Operated Shallow Tube Wells and Pump Dug Wells, sanctioned under different RIDF Tranches and Core Sector Projects which are handed over to the farmers.
Major Achievement for the F.Y: 2021- 22 & 2022-23 (Schemes/ Services):
- Completion of 143 Nos. Pump Dugwells (Solar and Grid Operated) in Kumargram, Kalchini and Madaraihat Blocks and thereby creating Irrigation Potential of 1716 Ha. of agricultural land under RIDF-XXIII (NBDD) Project in the F.Y. 2021-22
- Completion of 33 Nos. of Shallow Tube Wells (Solar) in APD-I, APD-II and Falakata Blocks and thereby creating Irrigation Potential of 396 Ha. of agricultutal land under RIDF-XXVI Project in the F.Y. 2022-23
- Completion of 17 Nos. Pump Dug Well (Solar) in Falakata and Kalchini Blocks and thereby creating Irrigation Potential of 204 Ha. of agricultutal land under RIDF-XXVI Project in the F.Y. 2022-23
