This Section functions under the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Government of West Bengal. The Student-Youth are the vibrant force of our country. They represent in all sphere of development, security, cultural activities and many more. The Youth Services & Sports wing always tries to facilitate them to participate in different sports, scientific & cultural activities and make them fit to stand in their life. The Section provides not only the infrastructural facilities like Mini Indoor Games Complex, Multigym and Development of Playfield to the Government Education Institution of this District but also computer training through low cost YCTCs across the District. ‘Strengthening of Coaching Camps’ is another vital scheme running under the section that offers training in different sports discipline to the youth.Currently we have 39 (Thirty-nine) active coaching camps and 9 (nine)running YCTCs in Alipurduar District. Club activities, a popular service-based programmeare taken up regularly by inspiring the youths to do something for their local area’s development.
Apart from this, Jaldapara Youth Hostel with a great scenic beauty, located beside Jaldapara National Park in the District, offers very economical accommodation in comfortable surroundings suited to people travelling on low budgets. We provide a range of accommodation from Non-Ac to Ac and from single to four-bedded room in these Youth hostels. A new 4-stroied Bhutanghat Youth Hostel beside Raidak River in Kumargram, Alipurduar is going to be inaugurated soon.
West Bengal is known for its cultural heritage and to promote the same among students and youths, we organize Student Youth Festival which is one of the major programmes for identifying the budding talents of our District in the sphere of culture. This section also organizes various other Utsab like Vivek Chetana Utsab, Subhas Utsab and Rakhi Bandhan Utsab in Block, Municipality and District level every year. Student Science Fair inspires the students to develop important research skills which benefit them at large.
All the schemes, activities and programme have been formulated keeping in view the social demand and need of student-youth.
